C2S2 Research Project Makes News Headlines

UT Dallas Professor Kenneth O and his research team have designed an imaging chip that measures invisible terahertz light waves that is small enough to fit on a smartphone and inexpensive enough that normal people could actually afford to buy one. Applications of this technology, which are still in development, include early detecting of skin cancer, finding studs hidden in walls, finding hidden cracks in vases and authenticating documents. The work has been recently reported by Los Angeles Times.
